Description

["Open the pod bay doors, HAL."]

Inspired by Stanley Kubrick's "2001: A Space Odyssey" (1968).

To experiance these pieces as they were made you might want to play György Ligeti’s “Requiem For Soprano..” from the 2001: A Space Odyssey original sound track (try here [link]) while you drift into them with your gaze.

This piece takes me to The exploration of paths and gateways, which is not an unfamiliar zone. In fact, most times its intriguing to see artist's point of views on the subject. For me, it brings out a more personal side - a side hidden in the mind of its creator and the path desired by that creator.

Despite the subject being black and white, there is a lot to look at here. I found myself connecting the different parts and seeing objects in dual forms. That's a nice mind tease. Still, I feel that some of the repeated elements can be reduced, to create more of a focus. But don't misunderstand me, the piece has a clear focal point. Just, there are quite a few distractions around it.

overall, it keeps you looking and thinking. That's good.
